Men's BBQ & Swim Party

The men of Family Worship Center got together for a good time of food and fellowship at the Men's BBQ and Swim Party on Saturday, May 17th at the Jackson's home. They enjoyed feasting on grilled marinated chicken and steak fajitas complete with all of the fixings. There was plenty to go around and everyone ate their fill.

The desserts were an assortment of flavorful pies and Italian Tiramisu. The men entertained themselves with plenty of visiting and much needed dips in the pool during the hot summer-like day. They even played a few rounds of water volleyball. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time and stayed around for hours. Thank you Bro. Jackson for hosting this event and everyone to joined us!

Advanced Bible Study Field Trip to the Dead Sea Scrolls

Fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls were among the ancient artworks and objects featured in “Treasures from the Holy Land,” at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. The Dead Sea Scrolls, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time, were uncovered by Bedouin herders in 1947 and excavated by archaeologists in caves along the shores of the Dead Sea. Fragments of the scrolls were pieced together to form more than 800 documents, many of them Biblical manuscripts. In addition to featuring rotating examples of the Dead Sea Scroll fragments, the exhibit included artifacts from ancient Israel, spanning 5,000 years.

Pastor Exum took the Advanced Bible Study class on a field trip to view these amazing artifacts. The group enjoyed viewing all the ancient pieces as well as a trip to Fisherman's Wharf.

College Boat Night

May 9th evening all the college students (including spouses, six pizzas, cases of soda, ice chest, and coffee) drove out to the Anderson's boat at Markley Cove at Lake Berryessa. This was the first college fellowship event for Family Worship Center.

A couple from a nearby church allowed us the use of their boat for this trip and they took 2 groups of 10 out for rides on the lake. Everyone played Balderdash for hours and talked and just enjoyed being together.

The only unfortunate part is that the roads were very windy and windy, that combined with the darkness caused a number of people to get motion sickness. Otherwise, it was a fun event and we look forward to having more in the future.
